Reclaimed English Medium Academy

In Lesotho, education remains an ongoing challenge, particularly for orphaned and vulnerable children who lack the opportunity, means, and support to complete their education.

In the Thaba Tseka district where our high school operates, over 70% of the youth do not complete high school. School fees, and social/familial pressure to work in the fields and care for animals lead many children to drop out before they complete their high school education.

Reclaimed English Medium Academy (REMA) is a Christian high school specifically designed to meet the needs of, and ensure the success of orphaned and vulnerable children in the most at risk district in the country.

AT REMA:

  • Students attend the school at zero cost and are provided school uniforms, transportation and two daily meals.

  • Beyond academic success, REMA focuses on developing the whole child with a special emphasis on discipleship and spiritual maturity.

  • REMA teachers are qualified for their area of instruction with bachelors and/or masters degrees in their field of instruction.

  • REMA employs a full time social worker who visits students homes and helps to strengthen the networks and structures around each child.

  • When children graduate from REMA, Reclaimed covers the costs of any university they are accepted to, including rent, transportation, books, food, clothing etc.
