This past fall we kicked off our mentoring program for high school students! We chose students who were recommended to our program based on their leadership potential and we paired them with caring adults in the community. We have teachers, police officers, social workers, instructional coaches, and pastors currently serving as mentors, and it has been incredible to see how eager these students are to meet with them each week!
Our amazing mentors are working on building trust and deepening their relationships with their students as they help them deal with emotions, school work, driving permits, plans for after high school, and daily issues that the students bring up.
This spring we are taking all of our mentees to a weekend camp at Lake Forest Ranch as a reward and an opportunity to continue learning about leadership, service, and team building. We are excited to see how this new program impacts our students.
